IS THIS BOTTLE RETURN SCHEME GOING TO SAVE LONDON?

Would it not be nice to enjoy a drink of juice or water for free?

Our answer is “Yes, of course!”

A return scheme for plastic bottles is set to make its debut in Britain. This would allow people to recycle their plastic bottles, and get some of their money back for doing so.

This idea has already won the backing of two big chains, Iceland and the Cooperative, which are ready to support the policy to promote recycling and reduce ocean plastic pollution.

The KwikSweep family, too, supports this idea. Our teams focus their energies on recycling and waste collections, and we could not be happier to hear about an initiative like this.

Richard Walker, director for sustainability at Iceland Foods, explains why this is a good idea.

To him “introducing a DRS may well add to our costs of doing business. However, we believe it is a small price to pay for the long-term sustainability of this planet.”

When KwikSweep teams perform garbage removal for our customers, they always endeavour to collect and recycle as much plastic as possible.

This, other than being an ethical choice, is a very practical one, too.

The benefits of recycling plastics are many, and this scheme will certainly contribute to this mission.

We, at KwikSweep, are often saddened to see how much plastic people forget to recycle. For this reason, all our waste clearance and junk removal operations seek to recycle as much material as possible.

We believe this scheme fits our ethos, and we would be happy to see it in action.

Britain recycled just over half of all the bottles that were sold across the country in 2016. This trend has to change. As does our attitude about waste.

KwikSweep finds itself busy tackling waste-related problems every day. We would love to see people care about the environment as we do.

This bottle return scheme is an easy way for Londoners to learn about recycling and environment conservation.

We endorse it, and we would love you to like it, too.
