7 Ways to Keep Your House Clean and Tidy

It doesn’t matter how many times you vacuum or get the duster out; it seems that kids, animals and even husbands are always around the corner ready to make your home so messy it needs a house clearance or a furniture removal to make it tidy again.

Well fear not, with these seven tips and removalist costs  , your home will always be clean, tidy and ready for unexpected guests.

1: Teach Everyone to Make their Own Bed

It might seem like an obvious thing, but making your bed is one of the easiest ways to ensure your home looks spick and span. As by having an unmade bed, the rest of the bedroom looks instantly messier.

When your kids are old enough, teach them how to make their bed in the morning and use it as an incentive for pocket money or treats. This will help teach them to make their beds everyday when they grow up.

2: Do the Dishes Every Day

The general rule for most homes is, if you do the cooking, someone else deals with the washing up. Dishes should be washed and dried at least once a day, as this will help stop any build-up of dishes as well as keeping your kitchen looking clean.

If you’re lucky enough to have a dishwasher, then make sure this gets emptied every morning.

3: Clean Up After Every Meal or Snack

It doesn’t matter if you’re making a fancy three-course meal or a simple sandwich for a snack, by cleaning up after every meal, your kitchen will always feel cleaner and more organised. Put the dishes in the dishwasher, sweep up your crumbs and put everything away after you’ve used them.

4: Wash a Load of Laundry Daily

We’ve all been guilty of letting our laundry basket build-up with dirty washing every once in a while. Which leads to family members getting irate looking for certain items of clothing. To help keep your laundry at bay, aim to do at least one load of washing every day.

5: Use Floor Mats

Dirty footprints are one of the most common ways for a home to look untidy. Mud and dirt can get trapped easily on shoes and paws, meaning that it gets brought into your home and makes a mess. To help keep your home mud-free, add floor mats for people to wipe their feet on when they enter your home. You could even ask people to take their shoes off, which really helps reduce dust in your home too.

6: Wipe Sinks and Taps

Stainless steel sinks and taps can easily look dirtier than they are, usually from soap scum and toothpaste smears. Keep yours shiny by using a cleaner on yours every day and buffing them with a microfibre cloth.

7: De-Clutter Before Bed

Clutter can easily build up in a home, especially if you have a large family. By taking 10 minutes every night to have a quick glance around your home and put away any clutter, you will help keep your home looking tidy and orderly.
